Find answers to common questions below. Our Terms cover entry fees, refunds, and chargebacks. If you need more help, use our contact page.
A deposit is a competition entry fee, not a bank balance. It is processed through our payment processor (for example card, bank transfer, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, depending on what we enable). Credited value shows as Competition Credits in your account and is subject to the playthrough in our Terms of Service before it can become withdrawable as Winnings.
Competition Credits (Class A) come from your entry-fee payments and must be used in wagers per your Terms before the related value is eligible to become part of your Winnings Balance. Winnings Balance (Class B) is value you earned in competitions. Only Winnings Balance (after KYC) is what you can withdraw, not the raw entry fee you haven't played through yet.
You can withdraw your Winnings Balance to a card or bank account through our payment processor once you have completed identity verification. Competition Credits are not direct cash-out funds; they are used to enter and stake in competitions first. If you are in a region that requires KYC before playing for value, the app will tell you before you compete.
You can request a full refund within 24 hours of the entry fee being credited, only if you have not placed any wager or other stake. After 24 hours or your first stake (whichever is first), entry fees are non-refundable. Refunds return to the original payment method. See the Terms and the refund section at checkout for details.
Because each payment is an entry fee to participate, not a stored-bank balance. The agreement is that you use that value in skill-based competition. Once you have met the per-deposit playthrough, the related value is treated as part of your Winnings path for withdrawal rules. See the Terms of Service.
If you have no wagering or tournament play for 30 consecutive days, unused locked Competition Credits may be converted to non-withdrawable platform credit that you can still use in competitions, as described in the Terms.
Filing a chargeback without using our internal dispute process first is a material breach. We may freeze your account and hold or forfeit value under our tiered policy and liquidated-damages terms, depending on how the network resolves the case. See Terms of Service sections on chargebacks and Tier 1.
Before your first withdrawal of Winnings Balance, not before your first entry-fee payment, unless a law in your area requires KYC before you can play for value, in which case the app will prompt you. Your legal name on WagerMe must match your payout method.
For Tier 3 issues we will send a notice within 48 hours with a specific reason and the rule we rely on. Reply with any evidence we ask for. Do not go to your bank first: the Terms require internal dispute first (see Terms §10).
If a match result can be verified via the game API (e.g., Lichess, Chess.com), the result is settled automatically. Otherwise, you can submit your result and, if uncontested for 24 hours, it is auto-confirmed.
Either player can open a dispute in the app and submit evidence. A WagerMe administrator reviews the evidence. You must use this internal process and wait at least 72 hours for our response before escalating to a bank, card network, or court for the same issue, as described in the Terms.
WagerMe charges a fee on the winner's payout (see in-product and Terms). Processing fees for payments may be shown at checkout; there are no hidden markups on top of what is disclosed there.
Chess wagers are live on Lichess and Chess.com with full API verification. More game wagers are on the roadmap: request your favorite title on our Request a Game page. Unsupported games can use the generic self-report handler.
Wagered amounts are held in a double-entry competition escrow in our systems while matches resolve. WagerMe is not a bank. You have Competition Credits (from entry fees) and Winnings Balance (earned in play), not a custodial bank account. Payouts go to your connected payment method after verification and any holds clear.
WagerMe uses geofencing to ensure competition for value is only offered in permitted areas. Location is checked at key actions; we do not track you 24/7 in the background.
Go to Dashboard → Account and use the delete account option. You'll need to confirm with your password. Withdraw or resolve holds on your Winnings Balance and entry fees per the Terms first when possible.
Click "Forgot password" on the login page, enter your email, and follow the link in the email we send you. The link expires after 1 hour.
