1. Information We Collect

• Account data: email address, username, and display name you provide at registration.
• Identity verification: documents submitted for KYC (Know Your Customer) compliance.
• Payment data: processed by Aeropay. WagerMe never stores your bank account details.
• Location data: approximate coordinates used for geofence verification at wager time. We do not track your location continuously.
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, and performance metrics to improve the Platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To operate your account and process transactions.
• To verify eligibility and enforce regional restrictions.
• To detect fraud, cheating, and prohibited conduct.
• To communicate about your account, wagers, and disputes.
• To improve the Platform and develop new features.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Aeropay: for payment processing and bank-to-bank payouts.
• Game APIs: your in-game username is sent to game providers (e.g., Lichess, Chess.com) to verify match results.
• Legal authorities: when required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

4. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Transaction records are retained for 7 years to comply with financial regulations. You may request account deletion at any time via your account settings.

5. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), hashed passwords (bcrypt), and signed authentication tokens (JWT). However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Browser Extension

The WagerMe browser extension ("WagerMe Game Verifier") is an optional companion that integrates with supported game sites. By installing the extension you consent to the following data collection:

• Authentication credentials: your login session is stored locally in browser storage so the extension can communicate with the WagerMe API on your behalf. Credentials are never shared with third parties.
• Game activity: the extension reads publicly visible information on Lichess and Chess.com pages — including player usernames, game URLs, and match outcomes — to detect and verify game results.
• Tab screenshots: a screenshot of the active game tab may be captured as proof of a match result. Screenshots are uploaded to WagerMe servers and retained as part of wager records.
• Location: approximate coordinates are obtained via the game site's page context when you create or accept a challenge, solely for geofence verification. Location is requested only at the moment of the wager action and is never tracked in the background.
• Notifications: the extension periodically checks for incoming challenges so it can display desktop notifications. No personal data is sent externally for this purpose.

The extension does not inject ads, track browsing history outside of supported game sites, or sell any collected data. You can revoke access at any time by uninstalling the extension.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Your Rights

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Object to processing where we rely on legitimate interests.
